Sadio Mane scored two outstanding goals against the London team, Chelsea who had a disastrous night at home. The first half was without goals with Liverpool attacking from deep whereas Chelsea had not registered a single on target attempt. The first half for Chelsea ended in complete disaster after Andreas Christensen fouled Sadio Mane right on the 46th minute.

Thiago Alacantara who was signed from Bayern Munich for a fee of 25 million pounds made his debut at the start of second half. He registered a decent performance on his debut but it was Sadio Mane who shined on the day. Five minutes after the play resumed, Sadio headed a beautifully balanced cross from Firmino and then bagged another goal after Chelsea goalkeeper Arrizzabalaga attempted a pass from inside the 6 yard box but blocked by Mane and hit it home.

There was a brief cause of optimism for Chelsea when Thiago fouled Werner but Liverpool’s star keeper saved the penalty from Jorginho completing the utter calamity for Chelsea.
